"Monastery of Our Lady of the Valley (Santa Clara)
On Sevilla Street is the Monastery of Santa María del Valle, popularly known as the Convent of Santa Clara. Founded in 1428 by the first Lord of Feria and his wife, Elvira Laso de Mendoza, its enclosure fulfilled the monastic vocation of two of their daughters, and its church served as the lineage pantheon.

The main chapel of the church, completed in 1454, houses the funerary sculptures of Garci Laso de la Vega and his brother, the first Count of Feria and his wife, works associated with Egas Cueman. The alabaster image of the monastery's patron saint, a work from the first half of the 15th century, is venerated in the main altarpiece, commissioned in 1670 by the assembler Alonso Rodríguez Lucas. On the Epistle side is the funerary chapel of the second Duke of Feria, dedicated to Saint Raymond of Peñafort and built around 1616. Adjacent to it, but open to the nave, is the tiny Chapel of the Relics, which houses a splendid collection of reliquaries donated by the second duke and his mother in 1603.

The cloister, which cannot be visited, is built around a 15th-century cloister, whose walls preserve some Gothic paintings. Significant renovations were carried out in the 16th and 17th centuries, resulting in the refectory, the choir stalls, the Porter's Courtyard, and the new infirmary and its Classicist courtyards. The nuns keep numerous religious objects, many of them from successive donations from the Ducal House. These include the set of liturgical vestments for the deceased, known as the terno de las Águilas (Eagle's Suit), and the processional cross and the silver and ebony candlesticks.
