On the façade of this historic building, red letters bear the name of this cinema, written in Gothic or medieval typeface.
The Klingenberg Cinema was built on the site of the Circus World Theatre, which was demolished in 1935. The cinema opened on October 6, 1938. The premiere film was the Norwegian film Ungen.
Klingenberg has undergone several renovations, with the number of seats steadily reduced to increase comfort and distance between rows. While the original number of seats was 1,215, there are currently 766 seats in the main hall (Klingenberg 1), 108 seats in Hall 2, 86 seats in Hall 3, and 82 seats in Hall 4.
