"Klingenberg Cinema was built on the site of the Circus World Theater which was demolished in 1935. The cinema opened on October 6, 1938. The opening film was the Norwegian film Ungen .
Klingenberg has undergone a number of renovations, where the number of seats has been constantly reduced to increase comfort and the distance between the rows of seats. While the original number of seats was 1215, there are currently 766 seats in the main hall (Klingenberg 1), 108 seats in hall 2, 86 seats in hall 3, 82 seats in hall 4.
"The three small halls (Klingenberg 2-3-4) were created through several renovations in 1972 (then as "Veslefrikk"), 1989 (in the premises of the café) and 1975 (then as "Biografen").
In 1995, the entrance area, the public areas and the main hall were protected by the Norwegian Agency for Cultural Heritage.
