This metal informational placard is located next to the visitor center at Meadow Garden, 1320 Independence Dr, Augusta, GA 30901, the 1794 historic house museum built for George Walton, one of three Georgians who signed the Declaration of Independence. The home was purchased by the Augusta Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and is maintained as a museum by that organization. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Place on July 19, 1976 and designated a National Historic Landmark on December 21, 1981.
The placard is from a series throughout Georgia dedicated to Revolutionary War heroes. The 'Golden Wheel' is displayed prominently at top center.
