The sundial is located at the southeast corner of the property along the fence line of Meadow Garden, the 1794 historic house museum built for George Walton, one of three Georgians who signed the Declaration of Independence.

The sundial is approximately 2 1/2 feet tall with base and has an intricate gnomon.The numbers are Roman numerals.

There are words on the interior of the numbers rings that say: "Stand among the flowers and only count lifes sunny hours - Dark days do not exist I'm a brazen faced old optimist"
