"To the west of the Plaza do Convento is the Baroque manor house, with its chapel, of the Pious Work of San Antón, founded in 1671 by the archbishop of Melide, Don Mateo Segade Bugueiro, on a house and land owned by his family. It was also known as the Collegiate Church, as it was originally intended for educational purposes, and in the 19th century as the manor house of the Marquis of Corvera. Since 1960, it has been the town hall.

The ground floor was used for stables, cellars, and other facilities, and the upper floor for classrooms and living quarters. Today, only the façade of the building's structure remains, as its interior was destroyed, losing the old stone staircase, the cloister-like layout of the courtyard, and the other rooms to adapt it to its new use.

The design of the chapel's Baroque-style doorway is attributed to Domingo de Andrade, the most prestigious Galician architect of the time. It consists of pilasters, Flat capitals and a voussoired lintel supporting a split pediment. The tympanum features the coat of arms of the founding archbishop. The chapel has a rectangular layout, with a barrel-vaulted nave. The first section is partially covered by the wooden gallery. The first steps of the staircase feature a slender column with a characteristic medieval base and capital, which could be considered an example of archaism or a medieval piece from another building."
