The bell in this tower was manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri in 1883 and installed in the bell tower of All Saints Anglican Church in Morris. In 1920, the church building, including the bell, was sold to the Lutherans. The building was demolished in 1968 and replaced with a new building that lacked a bell tower. The bell languished in a garage, until the present tower was built on the lawn of the new church. The bell first rang in the the new tower on Christmas Eve 1978. In 2016 the church building was sold, and the tower, bell included, was subsequently moved to Smith Park.
There is an accompanying plaque which describes the history of the bell. The plaque describes an electrical system for ringing the bell being installed when the tower was constructed, but does not say whether it continues to be functional.
