The neo-Gothic church was built between 1852 and 1864 and was designed by Diogène Poisat from Belfort. With a floor area of 62 by 23 meters and a height of 55 meters, the church is exceptionally large for a village like Blotzheim and is therefore sometimes called the cathedral of the Sundgau.
