"La Alberca de Trujillo es el monumento más original y desconocido del conjunto histórico trujillano. De origen romano para algunos (conserva sillares trabajados con anatirosis), una poza islámica de época omeya que serviría, entre otras funciones, para abrevar la cabaña ganadera para otros, lo cierto es que sus más de 14 metros de profundidad excavados en la roca viva le confieren un aspecto imponente y una originalidad notable. Una escalera de finales del siglo XV facilita el acceso, la recogida de agua en época estival y su limpieza. En los alrededores se conservan todavía restos de una canalización que conducía sus aguas hasta los campos de San Lázaro y San Juan.

"The Trujillo Pool is the most original and unknown monument in Trujillo's historic complex. It is of Roman origin, according to some (it preserves ashlars worked with anathyrosis), and an Islamic pool from the Umayyad period that would have served, among other functions, as a watering place for livestock. Its more than 14 meters of depth, excavated in the rock, give it an imposing appearance and remarkable originality. A staircase from the late 15th century facilitates access, the collection of water in the summer, and its cleaning. Remains of a canal that carried its water to the fields of San Lázaro and San Juan are still preserved in the surrounding area.
