"The heraldic coat of arms of Trujillo is one of the oldest coats of arms in Extremadura, having been in use since the late Middle Ages, when an initial version was confirmed by Saint Ferdinand. The current version of the coat of arms was confirmed in 1880 by King Alfonso XII with the following description:

On a silver field, an image of Our Lady of Victory with the child Jesus in her arms, placed atop a crenellated wall and supported by two towers, all gules and argent masonry, which was confirmed by Saint King Ferdinand III of Castile.
A more exact description of the coat of arms is taken from the coat of arms of Navalvillar de Pela, an old Trujillo district that adopted its arms in 1988, including those of Trujillo in its first quarter. The description is as follows:

Argent, a gules wall, masonry sable and supported by two towers of the same color, cleared field. Surmounted by a gold crest bearing the figure of the Virgin Mary, silver with an azure mantle, and the Child Jesus, silver. On the crest, an open Royal Crown."
