This granite stone can be found perched on the edge of the cliffs on the Buchan coast of Aberdeenshire in north-east Scotland. It remembers both James Paterson and Alexander Hamilton who tragically died when climbing the cliff behind this spot on October 15th 1967.

The spectacular cliffs at Longhaven are situated between Cruden Bay and Peterhead on the North Sea coast and the memorial can be reached from the Bullers of Buchan car park to the south-west along a precarious cliff-top path which passes close by on the landward side of the stone.

The stone has become less readable due to the ravages of the weather and nature, but an older photograph has a clearer view.(Photo)
