Casuarina Park - North Arm Cove NSW, located on Eastslope Way on the western shore of the North Arm Cove waterway on Worimi Country, is a community reserve undergoing a significant revitalisation. Once a central hub for village activities, the park had fallen into disrepair, but the North Arm Cove Residents Association (NACRA), with the support of government grants, council contributions, and local businesses, is working to restore it as a valuable community asset.
Currently, visitors can enjoy two picnic tables and a bench seat situated on a grassy area shaded by a grove of trees, offering a pleasant spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere overlooking the Cove. A new seat has been installed, specifically positioned to offer views across the waterway to the far shore. While a BBQ is not currently available (it's BYOB for now!), the new picnic settings provide a lovely space to enjoy a meal outdoors.
For those keen on exploring the waterways, Casuarina Park offers water access and a small boat launching ramp suitable for paddle craft like kayaks and canoes, providing entry to the scenic Bundabah Creek and the North Arm Cove inlet. Further down the path, you'll find new kayak racks alongside existing dinghy racks, installed by the Residents Association to encourage water-based activities. Future plans include further work to facilitate easier launching of small dinghies and kayaks at this reserve. The ongoing improvements at Casuarina Park are a testament to the North Arm Cove community's collaborative spirit and their dedication to enhancing their local environment through their Residents Association.
