In memory of the aircrew of the 15th. US Air Force who crash landed in
the vicinity of Fischbach
on May 29th, 1944. Four of the Airmen lost their lives and seven survived.

In front of the parish church of St. Aegydius in Fischbach there is a
memorial stone with a metal plaque commemorating the crash of a US Air Force
plane on May 29, 1944, in which 4 people lost their lives. According to the
"Missing Air Crew Report number 5443", the survivors parachuted out before the
crash. See the inscription above.
