Giant letters OKC have been installed on the east end of the 6th Street Gateway to Oklahoma City. The art piece is about 7 feet high and 18 feet long, and lit up beautifully at night.
A plaque in the sidewalk by this new sculpture reads:

A Day of Darkness. Years of Light.
In partnership with the City of Oklahoma City, and in appreciation to the people of OKC over the past three decades, the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is honored to illuminate the 6th Street downtown gateway with this meaningful improvement.
This act of art and placemaking stands as a powerful symbol - reminding us that from a single day of darkness, our community has fostered years of light, resilience, and hope. Our story continues to inspire and change lives forever.
May we always come together to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever.
The Memorial and Museum, in partnership with Downtown OKC Partnership, remains committed to preserving this gateway as a place of reflection, education, and unity. As we honor the past, we look ahead, working together to turn remembrance into action.
Go, be the light for our community.
Dedicated April 2025
