Built in 1941 by the Civilian Conservation Corps - Indian Division this barn gained historic significance as the beginning place of the Seminole Cattle operations now the 12th largest in the nation. It has also served as a gathering area in the 1950's for discussions among Seminoles about the creation of a federally recognized Tribal government. Today the Red Barn represents a powerful symbol of Tribal sovereignty. On December 24, 2008, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
