I must have met James Lowry, and probably met him several times. The name does not being back any memories, but I was an umpire in Wright City ball field for over 20 years, and was a frequent visitor the the Warrenton VFW (2180) & also a member of the same church, & we are both Marines - so our paths must of crossed at one time or another.

"James Wright Lowry, of Wright City, Mo., passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the age of 64 years, 5 months and18 days.

"James was born to Gregory Francis and Sara (nee-Wright) Lowry on March 6, 1947 in Jefferson City, Mo.

"He was united in marriage to Janice C. Vessels on July 18, 1970 in St. Ann, Mo. They celebrated 41 years of marriage.

"James served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was cable installer for Centurytel and retired in 2005. He was active with the Warren County Warcats softball team. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2180, Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Missouri Coaches Hall of Fame.

"Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Wright City, Mo., two sons; Jeffrey North (Amy) of Kansas City, Mo., and Chad Lowry of St. Louis, Mo., two daughters; Amie Sanders (Matt) of Grain Valley, Mo., and Jamie Friend (Jeffrey) of Wright City, Mo., four brothers; John Lowry (Andrea) of Portland, Or., Mike Lowry (Kathy) of Independence, Mo., Mark Lowry (LeAnne) of Highland Village, Tx., and Matt Lowry (Cathy) of Pacific, Mo., two sisters; Peggy Lowry of Maryland, Heights, Mo., and Mertis LaVelle (Michael) of Highland Village, Tx., six grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
