Established in 1977 Lightsey's Seafood Restaurant has been serving both locals and tourists for over 45 years. The motto for Lightsey's is "If it Swims, Crawls or Hops. We Probably Serve It."

Lightsey's originated long ago as a fish house and general store. Eventually, the little store fell on hard times. Seeing an opportunity, Charles "Buddy" Arrants set to work creating Lightsey's Fish Company a fish house is what everyone knew them by. With four tables in the corner you could eat and shop at the same time. Now you can dine in a beautiful larger restaurant with multiple dining rooms and some unique taxidermy decorations.

You can dine on local seafood from the Lake Okeechobee area as well as seafood from around the state. Raw oysters, smoked trout dip, sweet crab and corn chowder as well as gumbo and lobster bisque make great starters along with hushpuppies, crab cakes, alligator, catfish, frogs legs and cooter (soft shelled turtle).

Saltwater entrees include shrimp, grouper and scallops prepared anyway you want them. For the landlubbers there is chicken, steaks, burgers, and baby back ribs. If you have been out on the lake fishing bring in your catch and they will prepare it for you. There is a full service bar and a wide selection of Florida Craft Beers as well as the usual fountain drinks including ice tea and coffee. Bring a fat wallet or credit cards because the prices are a bit on the high side but well worth the size of the portions you receive.
