This stone was set during an 1881 survey to establish the tripoint of Colorado, the Territory of New Mexico, and the Oklahoma Territory. It is about a quarter-mile north of the current (and official) tripoint at N37 W103. A dirt track leads to this monument. The north face is marked COLORADO, the east as 37 NL, and the south as 103 WL. The west face is inscribed with the year 1881. Some years later a new survey found the actual location of N37 W103 to be about a quarter-mile to the south, so this is a "historic" tripoint monument.
