"Black River Gorges National Park
One of the main natural attractions is the Black River Gorges National Park, which extends over an area of 67.50 km and provides refuge for highly endangered native plants and animals. It is home to 311 endemic flowering plants and nine species of birds that can only be found in Mauritius.
You can walk several trails within the gorges and even hike the plateau. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothing if you want to try hiking and bring food, drinks and other supplies with you as there are no stores or medical service in the park. "
