"San Juan de Fuentes or San Juan les Fonts, is a Spanish municipality in the province of Gerona located in the Catalan region of La Garrocha. Until 1949 the municipality was known as Begudá.

It is part of the Garrocha Volcanic Zone natural park.

The first nucleus was established in the 9th century. The earthquakes of 1427 and 1428 collapsed most of the buildings. Even so, a recovery of the area began, with small population centers. This recovery was stopped by the civil war in the 15th century.

During the 17th century there was a time of crisis, and the war of succession aggravated it.

There was no demographic growth until the 18th century, with the incorporation of immigrants to the area of ??Olot and its surroundings.

The Great War meant another decline in the population, which became progressive during the 19th century and the cholera epidemic (1854) wreaked havoc.

During the 20th century there was a social and economic resurgence despite the Civil War and the Franco dictatorship."
