Museu da Casa Brasileira (Brazilian House Museum) has home objects, furniture and equipment from different periods of Brazil's history. Built from 1942 to 1945, Solar Prado, which occupies an area of approximately 15,000 square meters, is a copy of Palácio Imperial de Petrópolis (Imperial Palace of Petrópolis), in Rio de Janeiro. The Museum is an important center of research and analysis on architecture and design issues. Its library was reorganized and now it has a video library and a collection of Brazilian and international contemporary documentation.
