"Tinganes is a peninsula in Tórshavn where the government of the Faroe Islands was located. The løgting (the parliament) was originally located here, but in 1856 it was moved to a more northern location. The name means "Parlement point" in the Faroes. Tinganes is the oldest part van de stad en heeft vele steegjes. In addition staat de domkerk van Tórshavn."

"Tinganes is een schiereiland in Tórshavn waar de regering van Faeröer zetelt. De løgting (het parlement) zetelde hier oorspronkelijk, maar is in 1856 verhuisd naar een meer noordelijke locatie. De naam betekent in het Faeröers "Parlementpunt". Tinganes is het oudste deel van de stad en heeft vele steegjes. Bovendien staat de domkerk van Tórshavn hier."
