Vandringsleden - Bomarsund, Aland Islands - Scenic Hikes on Waymarking.com

Vandringsleden is a beautiful hiking trail with views over Bomarsund. It starts at Bomarsund's visitor centre and is a mixture of forest paths and gravel roads. The walk is about 4,2 km long. The difficulty of this walk varies between easy and moderately difficult. (visit link)

The gravel road was made by the Russians who between 1832 and 1854 built the Bomarsund fortress in the area. At the top of Devil's Hill there are also remains of a building that the Russians were supposed to use as a telegraph.

Djävulsberget or Devils hill is Bomarsund's highest point. Here you are 62 meters above sea level.
There is a nice view out over the sea, and several parts of the former Bomarsund fortification can be seen in the distance.
