EN: "The Church of Santiago was ordered to be built at the end of the 12th century, to house the oldest parish church in Ribadavia. Its most interesting points are the facade, with a rose window with twenty-four holes, the arches and the baroque tower.

The two doors on the sides, which correspond to each other and axemenized so that only one person can pass through them. The one on the right or south, shows on the left an inscription that reads:

Joha Mja fe-
Zo lavrar
This stone.

The whole building is profusely decorated. In the interior one can see numerous baroque images of outstanding artistic value. The one dedicated to Santiago deserves special attention. It dates from the 14th century and shows the style of the school of Master Mateo.

In 1222 there is documentary evidence of the existence of the church of Santiago and, prior to 1230, the parish had extensive properties of houses and goods located in the center of the town. Subsequently, the prelates granted it special privileges and it reached the status of main church of the town."
