A stone pyramid has been
placed on the Curonian Spit to inform visitors in two languages (English and Lithuanian):
In 2000
the Curonian Spit
was included into
UNESCO World Heritage List
as object of cultural landscape
The pyramid was built by the sculptor Gintautas Survila in 2004, as can be read on the thin base of the pyramid. The pyramid sits on a tiny hill made of stones and is surrounded by four addtional stones that indicate the cardinal directions. Each of the four stones has a letter for the cardinal direction they indicate.
