"The village of Maninghem was not established as a parish until 1704, at the request of its inhabitants. A new church, consecrated on 18 October 1714 and dedicated to the Virgin, replaced a chapel served since the 16th century by the priest of Clenleu. It is topped with a wooden bell tower and built of chalk."
