Marker Name: The Huntington Trail
Marker Text: Much of this road followed an old Indian Trail that later became the general route of Highway 97. It was created as a cattle and wagon route from The Dalles to Fort Klamath, and parallels the impassable lava flow. The Huntington Trail was constructed by Superintendent of Indian Affairs, J.P. Huntington in 1867.
