The NK Villa was built as an exhibition pavilion by the Nordiska Kompagniet for the Art and Industrial Exhibition in Norrköping in 1906. It was designed by the architect Ferdinand Boberg, who was one of the most famous architects of the time.
The pavilion displayed NK's exclusive furniture, which was manufactured in Nyköping from 1904 to 1973.
In 1907, the entire building was moved to Nyköping and given to the employees of the Nordiska Kompagniet. It was used here for meetings, parties and other gatherings.
In 1973, the Nordiska Kompagniet closed its workshops in Nyköping and the NK Villa was taken over by the Nyköping municipality. Now the NK Villa is the only thing left of the NK era in Nyköping.
The NK villa is now used as a community center for all residents where there are exhibitions, lectures and other interesting things.
