Brentmoor House was the centre of an estate of approx 3000 acres in it's hey day in the late 1800's. It was demolished in during the mid 20th century. Today only remnants of the walls exist. Hidden within some of the Rhododendrons to the west,if one wishes to venture in, is a memorial to one of the former occupants of Brent Moor House, a young girl called Margaret Meynell who died after a riding incident in 1865.
