This church sits on the Mount of Beatitudes where tradition says Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount, recorded in Matthew 5-7. There is a Franciscan monastery here also, and the church is surrounded by well tended landscaping. The church has eight sides, representing the eight beatitudes. The inside of the church has a beautiful tiled floor and depiction of each saying on the sides. The inside of the dome is bright brass.
