"En el siglo XVI se fundó este conventó. En él se venera a San Pascual Bailón. En el santuario está la imagen de la virgen y algunos cuadros de interés pictórico. Fue erigido por los frailes franciscanos alcantarinos sobre las ruinas de la ermita de la Natividad, a raíz del hallazgo de la diminuta imagen de la Virgen de Orito (42mm) en 1555. Tras este hecho se funda el Convento de la Virgen de Orito en 1562, cuya construcción finalizó en 1607. Más tarde se incrementó la devoción popular al tomar los hábitos el humilde pastor al que hoy se venera como San Pascual Bailón. Se pueden contemplar en el Santuario la imagen de la Virgen, diversos cuadros de alto interés pictórico así como la reproducción in situ de la celda en la que vivió San Pascual".
