A beautiful, easy to get to natural arch. It's on private property but the public has permission and access to it via a small parking lot off of state hwy 379. It was listed a National Natural Landmark in 1987.

Creelsboro Natural Bridge spans 104ft and is said to be the 7th largest natural bridge in the US and the largest in the eastern US (according to Wikipedia).

The Creelsboro Natural Bridge consists of Upper Ordovician Period silty dolomite of the Cumberland Formation. Unlike most natural bridges it is made of dolomite rather than sandstone, which generally comes from later geologic ages. The Rockhouse is classified as a meander natural bridge because it was created by river erosion of a cliff on the outer side of a sharp meander in the river. There's a stone marker there which I have pictured that states it's 300 million years old. The marker also states that it was discovered in 1792 by long hunters.

There is another monument in the parking area which says the following;

"To the public: this arch was saved from destruction by Thomas Goff and wife, Hours of work and a large sum of money. Please enjoy, respect and clean after yourself" The Goff Family
Photo of the Arch by itself?: yes

Type of Arch: Water Eroded

Type of Material:
The arch is Upper Ordovician Period dolomite of the Cumberland Formation. It was created by river erosion of a cliff on the outer side of a sharp meander in the river.
