"Fue construida en estilo mudéjar en el siglo XVI, aunque las consecutivas reformas han transformado su aspecto original. La primitiva iglesia de Picena se construyó a mediados del siglo XVI. En 1781 se proyecta la nueva iglesia, para la que fue preciso demoler varias casas. Se concluyó en 1788.
Se trata de un templo de una nave de planta rectangular, con arcos de medio punto en los muros laterales que forman capillas-hornacinas de poca profundidad y otro arco de mayor tamaño en el presbiterio. Centrando la cabecera se levanta la torre, con un vano de medio punto en cada lateral del cuerpo de campanas y tejado a cuatro aguas."
