The Hotel Arthur, built in 1905, was designed by architect Eugene Malmer. The six-story building has a brick and Bedford stone facing and is in a Renaissance Revival style. The building was once the tallest building in Aurora. The building is also known as the Traction Terminal Building because one of its long term tenants was the Aurora, Elgin, and Chicago Railroad Company and the building serves as the company’s traction terminal station and main corporate offices.
