"The war memorial was built in 1924 by the architect Henri Giraud. The statuary was made by the sculptor Jules Déchin (bears the signature). The monument leans against the base of the steps and the double staircase of the south facade of the town hall.

The monument has the shape of a semicircular wall with two straight side walls, all in a recess surrounded by a concentric step. It is made of Villereversine stone (Ain).

The war memorial presents the list of those who died for France, with, as a central motif, the winged and helmeted City of Epernay, crowning the list of its Heroes with laurels, with its words: "For the Right, for Liberty". At its feet, on one side, war attributes, and on the other, the Renaissance of the Champagne Vineyard through the ruins (figuration of vines); This allegory rests on a base receiving the arms of the City and the inscription "To our Dead". On the side aisles: two medallions surrounded by laurels with inscriptions of the four great victories and the year 1914-1918. Its base, formed by a molded stone bench, has on each side, cushioning consoles composed of sculpted vases."
