Carl Dean Coe was a farmer and rancher. Born in Colorado, his family moved here when he was young and he attended Hydro Public Schools, where he received the State FFA (Future Farmers of America) star farmer award and graduated in 1972 as president of his class. After marriage he and his wife Pamela established the Mound Valley Farm where they raised cotton, wheat, milo, and peanuts. In addition to farming, they established a registered Simmental cow-calf operation and a contracted 600-sow operation through Farmland in the 1990s. Imagery on this pink granite double headstone includes a ranch scene with cattle, a barn and stock tank, and a heavy tractor. The marker is in the southeast corner of the cemetery.
