The Aurora Public Library was founded in 1881. Originally it was located in the GAR Memorial Building, its current building was built in 1904 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie. The building underwent a complete remodeling in 1969, completely changing the building's facade. This is the main branch of the library system, with a total of three branches.
