This sculpture representes the struggle of the Namibian peoples towards freedom and independente, a dear subject of the National Museum which is also known as Independence Museum (although technically Independence Museum is "just" the most important museum run by the National Museum).
The word Manso is carved in one of the human figures of the sculpture. It's not clear if this is the name of the sculptor.
The name of the sculpture is not clear. The title of the Waymark is merely descriptive.
