The MiG-15 was the USSR's first mass-produced jet aircraft. From 1947 onwards, the designers used the German research results to sweep the wings and used replicas of the English Rolls-Royce Nene jet engines. Series production began in 1949. The MiG-15 became world famous during the Korean War (1950-1953). Here it proved to be superior to the American fighter planes. As a result, the USA was forced to carry out strategic bombings with B-29 bombers only at night. The USA was only able to offer an equal aircraft with the F-86 Sabre
