Life was not all work and no play for the CCC campers in Lee Creek valley. One of the most popular recreations was swimming in the lake formed by damming Lee Creek. The dam was crafted by laying two parallel rows of rocks with a large gap between them which was filled with concrete. When the concrete had set up an additional layer was added. This process was repeated until the dam had reached a height of 23 feet. When the dam was completed in 1937 it contained an eight acre lake. A diving platform was constructed out in the lake.
There is now a swimming pool in operation in the park and swimming is not allowed in the lake.
