The D&L Trail is a multi-use trail (foot traffic and bicycles) that runs along the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers between Wilkes-Barre and Bristol, PA. This trail runs alongside the former Delaware and Lehigh (D&L) Canal and provides a flat surface for folks to get out into a bit of nature. This section of trail is in the "Freemansburg to Farmersville Road" section, as denoted by the map at this link:

We are at mile marker 66.3 and there is parking with a short gravel path to the actual rail-trail.
This section of trail contains is on historic canal towpath and the trail surface is narrow and in places has rocks and roots. It follows the canal towpath and passes Lock 44 and Lockhouse at the Freemansburg Education Center. Continuing east, the trail also passes Lock 45 and chimney remains of a lockhouse in Bethlehem Township.
The Freemansburg Trailhead, Nagy’s Landing Trailhead and Route 33 Boat Launch Trailhead are also Lehigh River Water Trail access points.
The path is about 8 ft wide and gravel and it runs east-west in this section - there is a small trail leading to the Lehigh River to the south. Parking is at the trailhead and coordinates are for the sign in the main photo.
