This airport was renamed shortly after the independence of Namibia, in 1990, to Hosea Kutako, an hero of the nationalist cause (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosea_Kutako).
It was inaugurated in 1965, named by then J.G. Strijdom Airport, the prime-minister of South Africa at the time.
It's a small friendly airport, easily navigated. Still, there are plenty of restaurants and shops, with very fair prices, not very different from what we will find in a common shop in Namibia.
There are two terminals but in fact it's just one, as travelers can move from one to the other in no time.
