Located at Thomas B. Mack Park is an anchor and chain border that separates the park from Lake Hollingsworth Drive. The park was formerly known as Anchor Park thus explaining the anchors and large chain. Later the park name was changed to Southern Landing Park. The anchors and chain have remained despite the numerous name changes.

This anchor on the far east side of the park is a stockless type anchor thus the title of the waymark. It is a one ton anchor for larger vessels.
