The earliest Episcopal services in Geneva began with some of the first settlers, James & Charity Herrington. Early Episcopal services were held in a log cabin, and then in the courthouse. The building that is now the chapel of St. Mark's Church was built in 1868.

As the church grew over the years, significant additions have been made to the church facilities, but the original church is still actively used as a chapel and is open to the public at all times.
