The historical centre of Telc was inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list in 1992. The town is unique mainly because of the combination of walls, gates and ponds with moats protecting the historical centre. The original 13th-century fortress was rebuilt in the 16th century into a large Renaissance castle. The square is also unique, with an intact complex of historic houses.
House No. 61 stands out among the houses on the north side of the square. The core of this house is Gothic, Renaissance house with later alterations has a richly decorated Renaissance facade topped with a Venetian gable.
