Humphrey's Brigade.
McLaws' (Kershaw's) Division - Longstreet's (Hood's) Corps.
Brigadier General Benjamin G. Humphrey's.
September 20, 1863, noon, 2d Position.
13th Mississippi - Lieutenant Colonel Kennon McElroy.
17th Mississippi - Lieutenant Colonel John C. Fiser.
18th Mississippi - Captain W.F. Hubbard.
21st Mississippi - Lieutenant Colonel D.N. Moody.

This Brigade, as the left of its Division, and the third line of Longstreet's Corps, followed Law's Division in the general advance of the central column at 11:15 a.m. from the line east of Brotherton's, supporting the attack of Law's Division upon Brannan's line west of the Poe house. It reached this ground about noon, and after the change of front of Kershaw's Brigade to meet the attack of Harker's Brigade from the high ground in the northern portion of the Dyer field, it moved forward on Kershaw's right and took position in the forest fronting the open crest north and east of the Snodgrass house upon which Harker finally established his line.

Throughout the afternoon it took part in the assaults on Snodgrass Hill.
