"Na 10 jaar restauratiewerk is Kasteel de Haar in oude luister hersteld. Om hier bij stil te staan is deze post set uitgegeven met afbeeldingen van het kasteel en het rijke interieur. In 2010 werd Kasteel de Haar uitgegeven (44 cent) als onderdeel van de omnibus ‘Kastelen in Nederland’.

Kasteel De Haar is een monumentaal kasteel. Het is het grootste kasteel van Nederland. Het werd vanaf 1892 op de ruïne van het oude kasteel gebouwd in neogotische stijl. De Haar bestaat uit een omvangrijk terrein waarin zich naast het hoofdgebouw onder meer bijbehorende tuinen en gebouwen zoals een kapel bevinden. Het kasteel is te bezoeken als museum met een rondleiding. Voor de herbouw van het kasteel werd de beroemde architect Pierre Cuypers ingeschakeld, die er in nauwe samenwerking met zijn zoon Joseph Cuypers twintig jaar mee bezig was (van 1892 tot 1912).
