La Iglesia en la que se venera a Santo Domingo de Guzmán se remonta a finales del siglo XIX. A lo largo del tiempo ha sufrido diversas modificaciones, las últimas tras el Concilio Vaticano II.
En el año 1957, al erigirse la diócesis de Nueve de Julio, es nombrada Iglesia Catedral de la misma.
Del centro de al Iglesia nace la torre campanario, de estilizada estructura y terminada en punta, dispone de 6 campanas.
