The bell was discovered on 29.09.2017 by the divers Stoyan Dimitrov, Kiril Kyovtorov and Diyan Georgiev, during a diving expedition at 40 m depth near St. Agalina cape.
On 21.11:2017 the bell was brought out of the sea.

The comercial ship "Rodina" was built in 1922 in Germany. its lenght wa 114,7 m, width 15,5 m wit a loading capacity 6.510 tons. On 19.09.1941 the steamer "Rodina" came across underwater mines and sunk, whereupon three sailors of crew died.
