Le manoir Dubuc, construit en 1935, est une demeure en pierre, de plan rectangulaire à deux étages et demi, coiffée d'un toit à croupes percé de lucarnes. Elle est encadrée par deux imposantes souches de cheminée.
Il a appartenu à Julien-Édouard-Alfred-Dubuc, un des homme qui a participé au développement économique et industriel de l'ancienne ville de Chicoutimi et de la région du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Arrivé à Chicoutimi en 1892, Dubuc compte parmi les hommes d'affaires qui se joignent à Joseph-Dominique Guay (1866-1925) pour fonder la Compagnie de pulpe de Chicoutimi. De 1896 jusqu'en 1924, il occupe le poste de directeur-gérant de la compagnie. Entre 1925 et 1945, Dubuc se consacre à la vie politique fédérale; il est député libéral dans la circonscription de Chicoutimi à la chambre des Communes. De 1932 à 1936, il fait une brève incursion dans la politique municipale comme maire de la Ville de Chicoutimi. Par son implication dans le milieu des affaires, Dubuc contribue, entre autres, à la mise en place des systèmes de distribution d'électricité et de téléphone dans la région du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.

This mansion is located at 641 Sydenham Road in Chicoutimi, Quebec.
The Dubuc mansion, built in 1935, is a stone residence, rectangular in plan with two and a half floors, topped with a hipped roof pierced with dormer windows. It is framed by two imposing chimney stacks.
It belonged to Julien-Édouard-Alfred-Dubuc, one of the men who participated in the economic and industrial development of the ancient city of Chicoutimi and the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Arriving in Chicoutimi in 1892, Dubuc was among the businessmen who joined Joseph-Dominique Guay (1866-1925) to found the Chicoutimi Pulp Company. From 1896 until 1924, he held the position of managing director of the company. Between 1925 and 1945, Dubuc devoted himself to federal political life; he is a Liberal MP in the Chicoutimi riding in the House of Commons. From 1932 to 1936, he made a brief foray into municipal politics as mayor of the City of Chicoutimi. Through his involvement in the business community, Dubuc contributed, among other things, to the establishment of electricity distribution and telephone systems in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
